“Yes, board turnover is one of the problems here. If you look at tenure’s average on boards of directors, we’ve been doing some research on that. It is typically 10 to 12 years and it hasn’t really budged much for a few years here. You can’t change that fast or you can’t change fast enough with that level of turnover and it also tends to ensure the status quo in the boardroom. One of the things that I encourage boards to do is to take much more focus on succession planning for themselves.”– Ralph Ward
